Makerspaces have been cropping up in schools all over the country. They are spaces where students can develop different STEM oriented skills to work on collaborative and creative projects that may not be available in a traditional classroom. However, at Plains Elementary School in Timberville, Virginia, we believe a makerspace can be pushed farther. We want to encourage more play, exploration, and soft-skill development than is implemented in traditional makerspaces. This is what we call a "World of Wonder". A space where creativity, collaboration, learning, and play all meet in a space that is student centered and technology integrated.
